Trip to Divine Chocolate Head Office
7 pupils from the Akenkan team had a wonderful afternoon with Divine Chocolate discussing the nuanced and complex issues surrounding cocoa farming and child rights in Ghana. This will be a great help for them as they embark on writing their new Akenkan books.

![]() Akenkan founder, Suzy Pett, goes to Ghana to revisit their Akenkan schools in the Akuapem Hills and to help out at Divine Chocolate's Kids Camp in Kumasi
Suzy was very excited to return to the Akuapem Hills to see how the pupils were proressing, following the inaugural Akenkan Summer School the year previously. She took out the newest Akenkan book, 'Where the Cocoa Beans Go' and led workshops with the pupils to help them read the storybook and to help them develop their own imaginative writing skills. Suzy also was pleased to travel up to Kumasi to help with Divine Chocolate's Kids Camp for children of cocoa farming families. Divine Chocolae purchased 50 copies of Akenkan's book 'Where the Cocoa Beans Go to use at the summer camp, to help the children understand what happens to the cocoa beans once they leave their families farms.
